Katie Froude

Partner – Dispute Resolution

Katie joined in the firm in October 2023 as a Partner in the Dispute Resolution team and has 13
years’ experience in property litigation, which most commonly involves landlord and tenant
disputes. She acts for commercial and residential landlords and developers with large property
portfolios, based predominantly in Central London.

Katie deals with a range of commercial property disputes including trespasser claims, contested
lease renewals under the 1954 Act, forfeiture of commercial leases, dilapidations, claims for rent
arrears, claims for breach of covenant, and service charge disputes. In terms of residential
property matters, Katie deals with claims for possession, disrepair, and breach of lease.

Katie also acts for commercial tenants, including clothing retailers, art galleries, restaurants and
hair salons, as well as residential long leaseholders.

In addition to this specialism, Katie has experience in dealing with real property disputes,
contractual disputes and high value debt recovery, which includes insolvency action, such as the
service of statutory demands and winding up petitions.

As well as working for commercial and private clients, Katie has experience in handling property
litigation for charities, and those in the not-for-profit sector and has acted for a number of national
and local charities including the RSPCA, Sue Ryder and Scope.
