Matthew is a Partner and specialises in Commercial Property transactions. He joined the firm in April 2023.
Matthew is instructed by a range of property investors and occupiers including companies, charities and individuals and has previously worked in the London office of a global law firm as well as in-house for a property investment company.

Matthew has 10 years’ experience advising clients on all aspects of their commercial property requirements, including:
- Commercial leases (acting for landlords and tenants).
- Co-working and flexible workspace agreements and licences (for both owner operators and corporate occupiers).
- Freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals (by private treaty and auction).
- Real estate elements of corporate transactions (advising on the property aspects of the acquisition of shares in a trading business or property holding company).
- Portfolio and/or investment acquisitions and disposals (including commercial and mixed-use property).
- Asset management (including elements of placemaking as well as landlord and tenant matters such as re-gearing leases, licences for alterations and licences to assign/underlet).
- Advising on real estate finance matters (e.g. advising borrowers on the property elements of their finance arrangements).
Recent experience
- Acting on the agreement for lease and lease arrangements for a global satellite and telecommunications provider in Central London.
- Special counsel to a European bank on their global real estate portfolio and opening of new offices.
- Acting on the acquisition of a £1.5m head office for a client in Crawley, West Sussex and subsequent intragroup lease and financing.
- Acting for an advertising agency on their head office lease in Central London.
